This is the page where I'll describe myself in more detail.

I might talk about how old I am, what I look like, and what I do for a living. (I'll try to be truthful!) MIGHT is the KEYWORD here. Grin~~

I am over 65, should be retired and you can see what I look like. I have earned every single one of those wrinkles. I own a 52 unit apartment complex on the southeast side of town, and it's a full time job. The hardest part is keeping up with my grandson, Blake, the manager and bugging him and our assistant manager, Evelyn and doing the monthly newsletter. My favorite past time is mentoring young people and helping them with their goals. My grandson Shaun that did live with us is now 20 and in the United States Air Force, somewhere over in the desert.

I moved to Las Vegas the summer of 1997, after five and a half years of commuting back and forth to our condo here. We bought the Apartment complex in 1989, while living in Riverside County California. We were both retired, had a beautiful home there, not far from my elderly mother, but my husband got tired (once again) of being retired and decided to take over the management of the complex. He let our manager and maintenance crew go and went back to work. His work was done on August 7, 2009. Bless the man. More about him on his page.

Well, as the story goes, we got tired of the weekly commute, and sold our home in California and bought a lovely home here. I love Las Vegas, and after a year we moved my mother about a mile from us so we could care for her. She lived in Las Vegas for almost 7 years, lacking a month. She went home to our Lord on November 13, 2005. I really miss her. My Dad went home to be with the Lord, on January 14, 1991.

I owned and manage my own Shaklee business for 30 years and did a lot of traveling across the United States, (with my children in the summers) training my people. As a result of the traveling, my children learned a lot about the United States, saw a lot of different places and met people from all walks of life. Quite an education in it's self. During that 30 years I  studied nutrition, learned about  ecology and I finally sold the business in 1999.

I am a member of the American Business Women's Association, and have celebrated 35 years of membership in September of this year. I have included several links for this association and my local chapter and Southern Nevada Area Council. I am the webmaster for the Desert Dawn Chapter and the council (SNAC).  I enjoy coaching and mentoring women to succeed in their goals.

On a personal level, I had three children, a boy, Rodney (deceased in 2002) and two daughters, Debra (Brandi) and Susan.

Rodney has a son Jerame (age 27), Brandi has a son Randy (age 29) and a daughter Jessica (age 27). My daughter Susan has four children. In order of birth, Brian (age 27) Blake (age 26) Crystal (age 24 almost 25) and Shaun, (age 20).

Brian is married to Elizabeth, and they presented me with my first and only great grandchild. Emilee Rose who was 6 years old on August 28th. The day after my birthday. Yes, a day late, but I did the same thing to my dad. They also have a 11 month old son, Clark, born on December 7, 2009.

Jessica is married to BJ and they have a 2 1/2 year old girl, Kadence. She was born on April 5 , 2007

Last but not least, I am an Okie. I was born in Oklahoma, near Ada,  at my aunts home, in the country. We moved from Oklahoma when I was about two and a half, to Texas. We left there when I was almost four and a half, because of WWII. My Dad went to California ahead of the family right after the war started, to work in the shipyards, building ships. We followed him in a few months and I spent most of my childhood in Southern California.

I have been married three times. Third time is a charm they say. Grin~~ Bob and I were married for 42 years this past June.
